Sit Back and Relax with Station Casinos

In honor of National Relaxation Day on August 15th, your friends at Station Casinos are going to give you 10 tips on how to relax and seize the day!

  1. Create a calm and relaxing space.

    • Creating a Zen Zone will allow your body and mind to be at ease. It’s important to have a stress-free environment where you can be at total peace. Declutter, light a candle and relax.
  2. Turn off the phone!

    • You don’t need the distraction of everyday life buzzing and beeping while you’re trying to relax. Turn off the phone, even if it’s for an hour.
  3. Meditate.

    • Don’t worry, meditation is really easy to do if it’s your first time!
      1. Find your mediation spot. Find a private area without any distractions where you can be comfortable getting into the zone.
      2. Get comfortable! Sit wherever or however you like.
      3. Close your eyes and focus on your breathing. Start with a couple deep breaths; inhaling slowly through your nose and exhaling through your mouth. After, regulate your breathing until it’s back to normal.
      4. Clear your mind of all the troubles in the world. Life is busy and full of distractions! We want you to clear your mind and be stress free, even if it’s for a little bit.
      5. Relax.

    • Appreciate the life you live and what surrounds you. Grateful people are more likely to take care of their health. When you give thanks, it also reduces a multitude of toxic emotions. Appreciating the life that surrounds you will benefit your physical and psychological health.
  5. Do something that makes YOU happy.

    • Do you, boo boo. Do something that pleases you. When you do something you enjoy, your brain releases a series of chemicals that improve your mood.   6. Treat yo’ self.

  8. Catch up.

    • Whether it’s catching up on sleep, your favorite show, or even catching up with old friends, don’t neglect the leisure items on your to-do list.
  9. Cozy up to a nice cup of tea.

    • Teas contain tons of antioxidants. It contains less caffeine than coffee, so it won’t leave you jittery or crashing later in the day.   10. Catch up on some Z’s.

    • The recommended hours of sleep for an adult is 7-9 hours. Unfortunately, adults now average to about 5-6.8 hours of sleep per night. When you sleep, your body is working hard to keep you healthy. Your brain is working to prepare yourself for the upcoming day. Sleep is a time where your heart and blood vessels repair and heal.
