Family Friendly Travel Options in Las Vegas

      Family Friendly Vegas

Las Vegas has a reputation for the more adult oriented lifestyle and wild nightlife, but at Station Casinos we haven’t forgotten about your kids! There are so many things to do in Las Vegas for children and adults of all ages outside of the age old cliché’s of nightlife on the strip. It may be hard to imagine that there are amazing experiences in Las Vegas outside of the nightlife and party scene for the average traveling family, but in reality the options are quite numerous.

We take pride at Station Casinos on being family friendly at all of our locations and want to be able to provide a memorable stay for each age range. For us, being family friendly means having plenty of fun and affordable options for the whole family.

Around Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa

Imagine a day at the luxurious Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa. Begin your day with a breakfast buffet for the entire family, with plenty of healthy choices (and tasty treats as well.) With kids, buffets are an easy meal option, as it’s a one-stop-shop with something for even the most finicky taste buds. We know sitting at a restaurant and waiting for food can result in restless young ones, so grab a plate and dig on in. Craft your food specifically to everyone’s tastes. Even your picky eaters will be delighted.

After breakfast, round up the kids and spend the morning on a scenic hike in the beautiful Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. Learn about geology by studying the stratified rock formations. Investigate the lives of the Native cultures that called the Red Rock area home for thousands of years through archaeological evidence in the area including rock pits, rock shelters, and tool remnants. Take the kids on the Children’s Discovery Trail near Lost Creek for an eye-opening look at this serene area, complete with a lesson plan for the kids. Your children will learn about the native wildlife, rock formations, weather, and more on this Easy rated 0.7 mile hike. You’ll even see an ancient roasting pit used by the Piautes, one of the many native culture who called this pristine desert home.

After a hearty morning of active learning, exercise, and sun, head back to the comfort of the resort and take in a hearty lunch at one of our many award winning restaurants, or hit up the food court for a quick bite. If you have a little ones, after-lunch is a perfect time for a nap during the heat of the day.

      For the Kids

The star of the show at all Station Casinos properties has to be the pool area. In the late afternoon when the sun is starting to wind down, the pool is the perfect place to beat the heat. The children can splash and play, make new friends, and get their all-important daily exercise so they’re ready for a good meal and a good night’s sleep. The last thing a traveling parent needs is restless kids when it’s time for bed. So let them frolic and play in our desert oasis, while you enjoy some relaxation poolside with a drink.

After pool play-time, the kids are going to be hungry. Again, our award winning Feast buffets are always a winner, but there are so many great options at all of our properties. For finer dining, choose from one of our many steakhouses such as: Hank’s Fine Steaks, T-Bones Chophouse, Austin’s Steakhouse, and The Charcoal Room. If you want a more laid-back dining experience, try one of our many casual dining establishments. There’s just so many choices, so be adventurous and try something new at one of our restaurants.

      Family Options

The evening presents several opportunities for family to either enjoy more time together, or tailor specific activities for different age groups. As a family, you can take in a movie at most of our properties. Or if you have little ones, definitely check out Kid’s Quest hourly supervised childcare. Your little ones will be entertained by certified child care professionals in an interactive environment. This will free you up to take in adult activies such as a concert or live show, or try your luck at the tables.

After a good night’s sleep, maybe everyone is too tired to make the trek down stairs for breakfast. You know what that means, Room Service! Choose from a wide variety of your favorites, from fresh fruit and berries to pancakes and sausage. Our Room Service Menu has it all. Now that every one is fully fueled, it’s time to attack the day. You have so many choices. Perhaps you’d like some more adventure? Try one of our many adventure packages:

Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa Adventure Packages

      • Horseback rides
      • River raft & kayak day trips
      • Hike to natural hot springs
      • Rock climbing
      • and much more!

      Low Key Options

Or maybe you’re looking for something a little more low-key? Downtown Summerlin features an outdoor pedestrian mall perfect for walking from shop to shop. Choose from big name stores like Dillards, Macys, and Nordstrom Rack. Or find that perfect find in a one of the smaller boutique shops like Buckly, Michael Kors, Zumiez, Sephora, and many more. The full Downtown Summerlin map lists all the shopping options.

Over the remaining days in your trip you could visit the bowling lanes where the VIP accommodations are out of this world, and the kids will love the adjacent arcade.

      High Excitement Options

If you want even more fun there are plenty more activities that the entire family would be able to enjoy. Just a short drive from Red Rock, Wet & Wild water park is always a hit with families. The water park has smaller attractions and pools as well as rides for the big kids!

Bonnie Springs Ranch is a family favorite featuring an old western town as well as a petting zoo there, perfect for a day of adventure. While exploring why not take a visit to downtown Las Vegas? Old Vegas offers too many activities to list, but a few favorites include the giant tree house in Downtown Container Park, the Pinball Hall of Fame and the Mob Museum! If you’re feeling adventurous take a drive down to Fiesta Rancho and try out our ice skating rink which holds skate camps, lessons and DJ skate nights!

As you can see, there are plenty of family friendly options in and around Las Vegas. All it takes is a little planning. If you want a tailored experience, you can contact anyone of our hotels, and the concierge will be happy to help you create the perfect family friendly Vegas vacation. So pack up the kids, and your sense of adventure, and have a memory filled vacation with Station Casinos.
